The Kid From Brooklyn

Brooklyn has always been a popular location for film.
In 'The Kid From Brooklyn,' Danny Kaye, himself a kid from
Brooklyn, plays a lowly milkman who, with a lucky punch,
knocks out a champion prizefighter in a bar brawl.
He goes on to become Brooklyn's hope for the next champ.
The songs are by Jule Styne and Sammy Cahn.

The condition of the poster is very fine. Wear on the folds
is very light with tiny separations at the fold intersections.

There is very light soiling on the top left border

This story, originally a play, was turned
into a film for Harold Lloyd in 1936 with
the title 'The Milky Way.'

The director is Norman Z. McLeod
('Road to Rio', 1947, 'The Paleface', 1948,
and 'Let's Dance', 1950).

The cinematographer was Gregg Toland
('Grapes of Wrath', 1940 and
'Citizen Kane', 1941).

 

The condition of this half-sheet is fine.
It has been folded and the horizontal center
fold shows wear on the left border area.

Lionel Stander played Spider Schultz in both 'The Milky Way' and 'The Kid From Brooklyn.'
This character actor started in films in 1935. A victim of blacklisting, his career was
interrupted in the fifties when he refused to cooperate with the House Un-American
Activities Committee. During part of this period he worked on Wall Street as a
stock broker. He returned to film in the 1970s and had a long run as the
chauffeur in television's 'Hart To Hart.'
