The Rocky Horror Picture Show

The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975), 20th Century Fox

If there is one film that exemplifies the title of 'cult movie' this is it.
'The Rocky Horror Picture Show' began life as a British stage musical
in 1973. In 1978 a film version was released.  In general release
the film did poorly.  It was then promoted as a midnight screening
starting with a NYC movie house in 1976.  The rest is history.
The film is still shown in many cities around the country and
continues its NYC run at the Village East Cinema at
midnight on Friday and Saturday.

The story of Brad and Janet (Barry Bostwick and Susan Sarandon),
a normal couple who seek shelter in a storm and happen upon
an 'affair' being held by Dr. Frank N. Furter (Tim Curry) to celebrate
his new creation, Rocky.

There are songs galore with titles like "The Time Warp,"
"Sweet Transvestite," and "Over At The Frankenstein Place."

The filming was done at a castle in Berkshire, England,
which has since been turned into a hotel.
